On Memory and Story
This month's installment of what I'm creating and writing overlaps. I am honored to report that my work was selected for the juried show, Food Memory Stories. I submitted my art piece, Ice Cream Therapy, and my poem, Love Language.
Ice Cream Therapy was my nod to the societal tropes about women binge-eating ice cream after a breakup. I layered that in with my personal favorite flavor, Breyer's Mint Chocolate Chip, and yes, my own experience with a bit of ice cream therapy.

Love Language is a poem I wrote to celebrate the role of food in my life. I believe that feeding those you care about is an act of love, and I routinely say that food is my love language. This piece, an ode to three of the most consequential dishes in my life, was also accepted into the show.

Audience First: Why βWho This Is Forβ Shapes Everything You Build
β
I designed and marketed a workshop for independent artists and then walked into a room where 85% of the audience were arts administrators. In this month's article, I unpack what that moment taught me about "audience" as a real constraint, how it shapes deliverables and learner retention, and why the IDEAL Loop is what saved me from a full-on teaching spiral. If you build courses or workshops, learn from my live-fire lesson.

This month, we're talking all about some sneaky contract language that turns you into an unpaid marketing intern for licensing clients, and we're dishing with Ness Stoilova about the state of artificial intelligence in surface design.
